HORSE SAFARI CROSS COUNTRY
An ecological and friendly way in which a human can traverse the bush and visit local villages is on horseback. The speed at which a horse walks is perfect for hiking alongside wildlife and the sensitivity of the equines makes them ideal partners.
Horse Riding Safaris / Fly Camping:
We can organize horse riding trips of several days (1 – 9+ nights) from Ndarakwai, towards the Great Rift Valley of northern Tanzania. A light camp is built by our staff and moved daily.
Chuo cha Farasi is now permanently based at Ndarakwai camp– West Kilimanjaro and operates both day rides from Ndarakwai tented camp and multiple day riding safaris with a mobile camp. To experience a horse safari where your camp will be moved daily is an authentic experience. Galloping alongside a herd of wildebeest, zebras and giraffes as they race across the open plains is a long life dream for many riders over the world. Chuo cha Farasi offers you the chance to make of such a dream a reality, riding on thoroughbred and appaloosa horse’s well schooled, professional equipment and the luxury of miles and miles of unspoiled countryside in where to ride freely.
The wildlife is not afraid of horses in the same way that they are of cars and pedestrians, allowing them to be approach much more closely than usual.
You do not need to be an accomplished rider if you wish to go on a horse safari. This alternative tourism respecting nature and people is open to small budget as well as long distance horse safaris. But their most uncommon phenomenon is hosting mentally or physically disabled persons. Last year, a group of handicapped including blind people came to enjoy Tanzania, riding across the bush, listening birds and winds, smelling savannah, singing with Maasai, tasting African food and more.
